Philippines’ Permanent Representative Presents Credentials to UN Secretary-General

Permanent Representative of the Republic of the Philippines to the United Nations, presents his credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on 19 September 2025.

 

NEW YORK, 19 September 2025 — The Permanent Mission of the Republic of the Philippines to the United Nations in New York announced that H.E. Enrique A. Manalo, Permanent Representative and Ambassador of the Philippines, formally presented his credentials to H.E. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, at UN Headquarters.

The presentation of credentials marks the official commencement of Ambassador Manalo’s tenure as the Philippines’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations. In his meeting with the Secretary-General, Ambassador Manalo reaffirmed the Philippines’ steadfast commitment to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and underscored the country’s readiness to contribute actively to the work of the Organization, including in advancing peace and security, sustainable development, and the promotion and protection of human rights.

Ambassador Manalo brings with him extensive diplomatic experience, having served as Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Undersecretary for Policy of the Department of Foreign Affairs, and in senior postings in Geneva, London, and New York. He was also the Philippines’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York from 2020 to 2022. His return underscores the Philippines’ strong commitment to multilateralism and active engagement in shaping collective solutions to global challenges. END
