The United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) is excited to have commemorated the International Day of Happiness on 20 March 2017 by issuing two special event stamp sheets featuring “The Smurfs”.

The “Small Smurfs Big Goals” campaign is designed to encourage everyone to learn about and support the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. The popular Smurfs characters are encouraging children, young people and adults to make the world a happier, more peaceful, equitable and healthy place. The campaign message focuses on the idea that everyone can make a difference, no matter how small we are.

UNPA has issued two stamp sheets, in US$1.15 and Euro 0.80 denominations.  The stamps feature images of the Smurfs and the tabs portray the 17 different Sustainable Development goals. The tabs can be personalized with your picture by visiting the UNPA stamp counter in New York, Geneva, or Vienna.

With credits given to Sony Pictures Entertainment, UNICEF, the UN Foundation, and the UN Department of Public Information, “The Smurfs” images were adapted as stamps and designed by Rorie Katz of UNPA’s Graphic Design team.
