Tangier | DGACM

On 2 June 2016, Under-Secretary-General for General Assembly and Conference Management Catherine Pollard signed in Tangier, Morocco, on behalf of the United Nations, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the King Fahd School of Translation, Abdelmalek Essaadi University. The purpose of this MoU is to establish a framework for cooperation in training conference translators and interpreters qualified to work for the United Nations.


New UN Stamps: Sport for Peace

On 22 July 2016, the United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) will issue a set of stamps to promote the contribution of sport to peace and to highlight the Olympic Truce. The date of issue comes exactly a week ahead of the start of the Olympic Truce period for this year’s 2016 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

On 27 June 2016, 18 participants of a command-level training course from ten countries (Benin, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Mali, and Togo) were briefed by the Police Division in the Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) and the Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA).
