We offer a post of Office Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations. Under the direct supervision of the Head of Chancery and other senior officials of the Mission, the successful candidate will provide secretarial support for Ambassador’s day-to-day engagements, document management and filing, internal communication, provision of information to the section, organization of events, and for the initiation of operational files. The specific job function may be changed in accordance with the needs of the Mission.

We are the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations in New York. We represent the Government of Nepal to the United Nations entities, funds and programmes as well as to other international organizations in New York. Our major role is to participate in all United Nations meetings and conferences, both formal and informal, and report to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kathmandu on all development and act as may be necessary and under instructions from the capital.

Salary will depend on number of years of relevant qualification and experience. The post is on a renewable contractual basis, initially for one year with a probation period of 3 months. Benefits such as leave, transportation etc. are offered to employees under certain conditions.

We are looking for a proactive and dynamic candidate having familiarity with the United Nations, flexible attitude to adapt to various tasks, to work under pressure and to respond quickly to new demands. In addition, the requirements are as follows:

Qualification: Under-graduate or graduate degree
Language: English and Nepali
Computer Skills: Basic computer skill with practical knowledge of email and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) in particular.
