Ambassador Munkh-Orgil Tsend, candidate of Mongolia to the International Law Commission (ILC) for the term 2023-2027

The Permanent Mission of Mongolia to the United Nations is honoured to inform that the Government of Mongolia has presented the candidature of His Excellency Ambassador Munkh-Orgil Tsend to the International Law Commission (ILC) for the term 2023-2027 at the elections to be held during the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in November 2021 in New York.

Ambassador Munkh-Orgil Tsend is an experienced diplomat, politician and lawyer. He served as Mongolia’s Foreign Minister (twice) and Minister and Deputy Minister for Justice and Home Affairs, and was elected to the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia on four occasions. In the national parliament, Ambassador Munkh-Orgil Tsend drafted or co-drafted many fundamental pieces of legislation including civil, criminal, corporate, labour and land codes.

Ambassador Munkh-Orgil Tsend is the first ever candidate of Mongolia to the International Law Commission.
