The first United Nations Summit on Biodiversity focused on the crisis facing humanity from the degradation of biodiversity and the urgent need to accelerate action on biodiversity for sustainable development.The Summit provides a chance for Heads of State and other leaders to raise ambition for the development of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework to be adopted at the 15th Conference of Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in 2021
The United Nations Dispute Tribunal(UNDT) welcomed four new judges to serve on the internal justice system which was
created by the United Nations General Assembly. Operational since 2009, the UNDT serves as the court where the UN system staff members apply to when challenging nadministrative decision made by an entity over which the court has jurisdiction
Ambassador Dr Perks M. Ligoya took part in The Second High-level United Nations Conference on South-South Cooperation that was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from the 20th to 22nd March 2019.
The Malawi government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation launched three vital tools for its development. These tools consist of the Malawi Foreign Policy, the first fever Malawi Diaspora Engagement Policy, and the Diaspora Portal. The launch took place in the Capital city of Malawi, Lilongwe on Monday the 18th February 2019.
