AMBASSADOR DR PERKS LIGOYA AT THE LAUNCH OF MALAWI SUSTAINABLE ENERGY INVESTMENT STUDY

His Excellency Ambassador Dr Perks Ligoya (seated Bottom right) travelled to the capital city of Malawi, Lilongwe for the launch of Malawi Sustainable Energy Investment Study,the launch took place on the 7th february,2019 from 9:30 morning to 12:30 afternoon at the Bingu International Convention Centre. As the Chair of LDC Global Coordination Bureau, Ambassador Dr Perks Ligoya had been requested by the Under-Secretary-General and High Representative Ms Fekitamoeloa Katoa 'Utoikamanu to join her on the mission to launch a sustainable energy study project in Malawi.

The study is set to outline opportunities that will allow interest for investment in sustainable energy in Malawi, the launching of the study meeting brought together interested parties from the renewable energy sector, to discuss achievements to be expected from the study and ways to move forward once implemented. The study has been jointly commissioned by the Government of Malawi’s Ministry of Natural Resources, Energy and Mining and the United Nations Office of the High-Representative for Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS). for more information on the project read
