On October 15, 2018 within the framework of the Second UNGA Committee a regular meeting was held on Agenda №20 “Sustainable Development”, where the main item of the agenda was the sub-item “The Role of the International Community in the Prevention of Radiation Threat in Central Asia”
In this regard, the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN, M. Moldoisaeva, made a statement in which she noted the importance of implementing the 2030 Agenda at the national level, highlighting that environmental protection in Central Asia is one of the priority issues.
In addition, in her speech she informed about the inclusion of the updated resolution “The role of the international community in the prevention of radiation threats in Central Asia” in the Agenda of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, and also asked other countries for support.
