Kyrgyzstan established diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Lesotho. The joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations was signed in New York on Thursday July 20, 2017 by the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN, Mirgul Moldoisayeva and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Lesoth to the UN, Kelebone A.Molefe.

On July 10, 2017, Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Oleg Pankratov, representing the presiding country of the Eurasian Economic Union, presented to the ECOSOC High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development the report on the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in the Eurasian Economic Union region.

The joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations was signed in New York on Thursday by the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN, Mirgul Moldoisayeva and Permanent Representative of the Lebanese Republic to the UN, Navaf Salam.
Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov and Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres honored the memory of those killed during the June 2010 events. They laid flowers at the memorial "Tears of Mothers" in Osh and inspected a photo exhibition dedicated to the tragic events of June 2010.

On May 31st, 2017 a special meeting of the UN Economic and Social Council was held at the UN headquarters, which allowed to discuss measures taken by the Governments to achieve the ninth Sustainable Development Goal related to industrialization, infrastructure, and innovations.
In the opening remarks, President of ECOSOC Mr. F. M. Makamure Shava emphasized that the Agenda for Sustainable development 2030 recognizes the special importance of industrialization and innovation.
This Forum is considered by the UN Member States as a key mechanism for monitoring to follow up of the Third International Conference on Financing for Development and aims to provide evaluation of the progress achieved in Addis-Ababa Program of Action on Financing for Development implementation.
