In the framework of the Chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) for the year of 2016, the Permanent Mission of the Kyrgyz Republic has submitted to the consideration of the UN General Assembly a draft resolution (A/71/L.5) untitled «Cooperation between the United Nations and the Commonwealth of Independent States». After the consideration, the resolution was adopted by the General Assembly by consensus.
The event took place on October 21, 2016, at UN headquarters, in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Nations, UNDP, and international partners.
During the meeting, senior representatives of foreign missions, international organizations and environmental activists have discussed prospects of joining efforts for the conservation of this endangered species.

During the current session of the Committee headed by the Permanent Representative of Indonesia to the United Nations, Mr. Dian Djani. The agenda will focus on issues relating to macroeconomic policy, financing for development, sustainable development, human settlements, globalization and interdependence, poverty eradication, development of agriculture, food security and nutrition, information and communication technologies for development and others.Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN M.Moldoisaeva also shared vision on contemporary issues of development and outlined the Government taken measures to implement the sustainable development agenda until 2030. The attention of UN member states was also drawn to the planned in 2017 in Kyrgyzstan, high-level event on the preservation of the population of the snow leopard and solving problems on uranium tailing sites.
Permanent Representative of Kyrgyzstan to the United Nations M.Moldoisaeva in her statement reiterated the strong commitment of Kyrgyzstan to combat international terrorism and the willingness to encourage all activities and legal instruments adopted within the United Nations to combat the manifestations of terrorism.
She highlighted the importance of regional cooperation to combat terrorism in the framework of regional organizations - the CSTO, SCO and CIS.
Minister Erlan Abdyldaev met with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, in which the sides discussed state and prospects of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the United Nations.
As part of the ceremony, UN Under-Secretary-General for Legal Affairs Miguel de Serpa Soares thanked the Kyrgyz Republic for joining the important Agreement and looked forward to the early ratification of the Agreement.
During the conversation E.Abdyldaev sternly protested on behalf of the Kyrgyz Republic on the appearances of Kadyrjan Batyrov in Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), he was convicted by the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic and was sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment for organizing and inciting ethnic hatred in June 2010 and he is wanted by authorities.The Kyrgyz side is required to block access to all the activities of the OSCE, to all sentenced criminals hiding from the punishment, in particular to K. Batyrov. At the same time, it was stated that the Kyrgyz side reserves the right to use all tools to preserve peace and stability in the country.
During the meeting with UNDP Administrator Helen Clark, the two sides discussed ways of achieving the goals of sustainable development, as well as important areas of cooperation in matters of regional security, economic and social development, the fight against corruption.
Touching upon the problems associated with climate change, E.Abdyldaev informed about the planned signing of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the intention of Government of the Kyrgyz Republic to hold the in 2017 II World Forum on snow leopard conservation, Helen Clark was invited to participate in this event.
In his speech, the Minister reiterated the importance of the Vienna Programme of Action, the implementation of which will contribute to the achievement of sustainable development.The international community was informed about the measures taken by the country in order to ensure sustainable economic growth.
