During his visit to New York on 17-19 January 2018 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyz Republic Erlan Abdyldaev took part in Ministerial debates at the UN Security Council on development of cooperation between states of Central Asia and Afghanistan and made the statement.
On 20 December 2017, an open debate took place in the UN Security Council to address contemporary challenges to international peace and security in connection with the agenda item "Maintenance of international peace and security".
The Permanent Mission of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Nations together with the Missions of Austria and Peru to the United Nations held an event dedicated to the International Mountain Day. The event took place on December 11, 2017 at the United Nations headquarters. The meeting was attended by UN member countries, representatives of international institutions and academia.
On 7th December 2017 in New York the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Nations H.E. Mrs. Mirgul Moldoisaeva and the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Zimbabwe to the United Nations H.E. Mr. Frederick Musiiwa Makamure Shava, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Zimbabwe to the United Nations have signed the Joint Communiqué on establishment of the diplomatic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Zimbabwe.
On November 27 this year at the UN Headquarters in New York, the meeting "Partners for Afghanistan: Linking Security, Development and Peace in the Central Asian Region" was organized by the Permanent Missions of Afghanistan, Germany and Kazakhstan to the United Nations.
On October 10, 2017, the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Nations, Mrs. M.Moldoisaeva met with Mr. V. Voronkov, UN Under-Secretary-General and Head of the UN Office for Combating Terrorism.
On the margins of the UN General Assembly in New York, high-level event dedicated to the hazards associated with the former uranium mining activities in Central Asia was held on September 20, 2017.
Representatives of more than 48 countries, international organizations and financial institutions were participated in this event.
President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev speaking at 72nd session of the General Assembly of the United Nations touched upon the achievements of the country.
He said that the peace, harmony and stability are the main things that Kyrgyzstan have achieved in recent years. “The country is changing. The Kyrgyz Republic is the first and only country in post-Soviet Central Asia with parliamentary democracy,” he said.

President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev met with Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres on September 20 as part of his participation in the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, the presidential press service reported.
Before the beginning of the meeting, President Atambayev wrote a note in the book of honorable guests to the UN headquarters.
