On May 25, 2017, the Kyrgyzstan Mission had participated in UN International Bazaar, which was held at the UN headquarters in New York.
H.E. Ms. Mirgul Moldoisaeva is not only among the roughly three dozen women who serve as the Permanent Representatives of their country to the United Nations in New York, she is also among the youngest. So, too, her country – the Kyrgyz Republic or Kyrgyzstan - was among a group of former Soviet Republics that joined the United Nations only in 1992 following the collapse and dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991 and their emergence as sovereign states in their own right.
On the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, an opening of the photo exhibition was held at the UN Headquarters in New York, organized jointly by the Permanent Missions of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan
Kyrgyzstan was included in the list of 39 countries that paid their contributions to the UN budgets in full and without debts for previous years.

“A landslide in Ayu village of Uzgen region in Osh oblast on April 29, 2017 resulted in human casualties. The tragedy claimed the lives of our citizens. For the people of Kyrgyzstan, this is a heavy loss. State bodies of Kyrgyzstan carry out rescue work to find victims and bodies of the deceased, measures are being taken to provide support to their relatives and friends. Deeply mourning over the dead and expressing condolences to their relatives and friends, it is decided to declare April 30, 2017 the day of mourning in Kyrgyzstan,” the decree said.
Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Nations delivered a statement at the United Nations Alliance of Civilization Group of Friends Meeting. H.E. Mrs. Mirgul Moldoisaeva welcomed the theme of the meeting “The role of Interreligious and intercultural Dialogue Processes as a Tool for Prevention Conflict and Post-Conflict Peacebuilding”.
On 21 March 2017, a solemn meeting on the occasion of the International Day of Nooruz was held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The event was attended by the permanent representatives of the UN member states, Heads and experts of various UN structures.
The United Nations Secretary-General Mr. Antonio Guterres and the President of the UN General Assembly Mr. Peter Thompson as well as the Director-General of UNESCO delivered greeting messages to the people in the world celebrating Nooruz.
The Kyrgyz delegation participated in the 48th session of the UN Statistical Commission at the UN Headquarters in New York from March 7 to 10, 2017.
During the current session, UN member countries discussed data and indicators for the Agenda for Sustainable Development for the period up to 2030, the program for transforming official statistics, the problems of statistical development at the regional level, and many other issues.
