UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has met with the Prime-Minister S. Jeenbekov

Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov and Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres honored the memory of those killed during the June 2010 events. They laid flowers at the memorial "Tears of Mothers" in Osh and inspected a photo exhibition dedicated to the tragic events of June 2010.

Secretary-General Guterres participated the Taza Koom Conference on Public Service in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

On May 31st, 2017 a special meeting of the UN Economic and Social Council was held at the UN headquarters, which allowed to discuss measures taken by the Governments to achieve the ninth Sustainable Development Goal related to industrialization, infrastructure, and innovations.

 In the opening remarks, President of ECOSOC Mr. F. M. Makamure Shava emphasized that the Agenda for Sustainable development 2030 recognizes the special importance of industrialization and innovation.

The Second meeting of the ECOSOC Forum on Financing for Development is held from 22nd to 25th May 2017 at the United Nations Headquarter in New York.

This Forum is considered by the UN Member States as a key mechanism for monitoring to follow up of the Third International Conference on Financing for Development and aims to provide evaluation of the progress achieved in Addis-Ababa Program of Action on Financing for Development implementation.
