Kenya’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Amb. Macharia Kamau has been elected by the African Group to Chair the United Nations Peace Building Commission (PBC) during its 10th Session in 2016.
Kenya Mission to the United Nations held Jamhuri day celebrations at the Ambassador’s Residence in Riverdale in New York on the evening of 11th December 2015. It was attended by the United Nation’s Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Jan Eliasson, Ambassadors and delegates from various Missions, Kenyans working at the United Nations, Kenyans living in the diaspora and other invited guests.

The Kenya Diaspora Easter Investment Conference report gives an overview of critical issues discussed in the Diaspora Conference 2015 whose theme was Development and innovation: opportunities for Diaspora that was held at the Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club between 31st March and 2nd April, 2015. This was the first Conference that brought together the government, Kenya’s Envoys, members of the Kenyan Diaspora, the private sector and other stakeholders to engage on issues that are of great importance to Kenyan Diaspora and the country at large.
The Ministry of East African Affairs, Commerce and Tourism through its agency, Kenya Investment Authority (KenInvest) will host the 2nd Edition of the Kenya International Investment and Trade Conference 2015 from 22nd -25th November 2015 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC). The theme of the conference is “Choose Kenya, Country of Unlimited Possibilities”

H.E Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, C.G.H President and Commander in Chief of the Defence Forces of the Republic of Kenya joined the World Heads of States and Government meeting at the United Nations General Assembly for the United Nations Summit for the Adoption of Post 2015 Development Agenda; Transforming our World, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable development.

The new development Agenda entitled “Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” has been adopted at the United Nations, in New York. This was a three year intergovernmental negotiation process (IGN) which started at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio, Brazil in 2012, followed by the Open Working Group on sustainable development goals which ended with the adoption of The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The process was led by the Permanent Representatives of the Missions of the Republic of Kenya, and Ireland to the United Nations.
July 28, 2015- Ambassador Macharia Kamau was honoured with the Elizabeth Haub Award for Environmental diplomacy today, in an intimate ceremony attended by the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon. The award is in recognition of his “extraordinary leadership and personal commitment to the negotiation and adoption of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
