Kenya/H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta will host the 2015 Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) from 25-26 July 2015 at the United Nations Complex in Nairobi. This is the sixth Annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) which started in 2009.The first summit was hosted by the USA in Washington DC in 2010 by President Barack Obama.

The aim of the GES is to expand support for entrepreneurship and economic opportunities around the world. This transformational meeting is universal and benefits all countries and their citizens irrespective of their development status.

This year’s Summit will be attended by Heads of State and Government, high level government officials, global entrepreneurs, Small Medium Enterprises (SMES) corporate leaders as well as young entrepreneurs.

The summit will address areas such as Global Innovation through Science and Technology, Financing Entrepreneurship, as well as hold conversations such as getting ready for growth, expanding horizons in relation to the rising power and potential of women entrepreneurs to create innovative business and social impact. Other conversations will revolve around factors that make a country competitive from a Macro to Micro-economic view, tools and tactics an entrepreneur needs to identify and capitalize on new opportunities. The event provides a unique opportunity to galvanize global attention on emerging women and young entrepreneurs.

“A mark of that (GES) globalization is President Obama’s visit to the summit. It will be a pleasure and an honour to host him, and to co-chair the summit. The summit could not have come at a more opportune time: right across the world, we see a new, and intense interest in enterprise and innovation – and their effects on emerging economies, such as our own” – H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta.

President Barack Obama will lead the USA Delegation to the 2015 GES in Nairobi, Kenya. He will bring together emerging entrepreneurs from across the United States and around the world to highlight the importance of investing in women and young entrepreneurs to create innovative solutions to some of the world’s toughest challenges, including poverty, climate change, extremism, as well as access to education and healthcare.

Kenya is ready and open for business and the President is at the forefront encouraging all to Choose Kenya as a Business Destination.

“My Government is focused on using innovation and entrepreneurship to power economic growth and the expansion of opportunities. We are a vibrant nation seeking to thrive in a continent marching resolutely forward in a fast-evolving global context. Let us go out and innovate.” H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta.
