The seventieth session of the General Assembly will convene at United Nations Headquarters, on 15 September 2015, and the general debate will open on 28 September 2015.

United Nations summit for the adoption of the post-2015 development agenda (25-27 September 2015)

Substantive session of the Committee on Conferences will be held from 8 to 14 September 2015, in Conference Room 5.

Fifteen years after Security Council resolution 1325 (2000) called for greater participation of women in all aspects of conflict resolution, five UN field-based leadership positions working for the police, justice and corrections areas are filled by women in Darfur. Learn about the work, challenges and achievements of these remarkable women: Hester Paneras, Francoise Simard, Mary Okumu, Isha Dyfan and Surayo Buzurukova.

The event, held in New York on 19 May 2015, provided an opportunity for an informal and open exchange of views on multilateral treaty-making and the rule of law. The speakers shared their views and experiences on multilateral treaty negotiations, as well as on the work of United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and the International Law Commission (ILC) on multilateral treaties. Speakers highlighted the engagement of small States in these processes.

The event, held in New York on 21 May 2015, provided an opportunity for Member States, UN entities and civil society to exchange knowledge, experiences and best practices on achieving universal birth registration. It also provided an opportunity to discuss and hear about progress on the implementation of the voluntary pledges on the rule of law, made on the occasion of the High-level Meeting of the General Assembly on the Rule of Law at the National and International Levels in September 2012.
