Thursday, 02 July 2020

Permanent Representative of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana to the United Nations, H.E. Michael Rudolph Ten-Pow

Excellency,

I have the sad duty to inform you, in your capacity as Chair of the Caucus of CARICOM Permanent Representatives to the United Nations for the months of July and August 2020, that my appointment as Permanent Representative of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana to the United Nations comes to an end on 31 July 2020 and that I do not intend to seek or accept its renewal beyond that date. I wish to inform you further that I will be proceeding on annual leave with effect from 7 July up to and including 31 July 2020.

Following my departure on annual leave and until the appointment of my successor, Minister Counselor Ms. Megayla Austin will serve as Chargé d’Affaires of the Permanent Mission of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, while Ambassador Neil Pierre, Chief Coordinator of the G-77 Coordination Team, will be responsible for G-77 matters.

While I will be speaking with each member of the Caucus individually in the coming days, let me express to them through you that the bonds of Caribbean familyhood, kinship and solidarity strengthened over the course of my tenure these past four years have been the most enduringly satisfying and enriching part of my experience as Guyana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

I take this opportunity to commend you and other members of the Caucus  on your ongoing efforts and to wish you continued success in forging closer bonds of friendship among the sister States of the Caribbean Community and in raising the profile of CARICOM in the United Nations system with a view to more effectively advancing the interests of the member States and peoples of the Community.

With best wishes and in friendship.

Rudolph M. Ten-Pow

Permanent Representative of

the Co-operative Republic of Guyana
