First Lady of Guyana H.E. Mrs. Sandra Granger was honored with the conferment of the Centre for Economic Leadership and Development (CELD'S) Global Female Leadership Impact Award. Mrs. Granger was part of a panel of distinguished First Ladies at the International Conference on Gender and Sustainability & International Summit On African Leadership as part of the UNGA initiative, at the Hilton Hotel Midtown, on September 21, 2017. Mrs. Granger made inspiring comments to the panel and audience of mostly women, detailing the tireless, outstanding work she has been doing to empower women, youth and the less fortunate in her homeland of Guyana. The President of Mauritius H.E. Ameena Gurib after addressing the audience presented First Lady H.E. Sandra Granger with an Award plaque for her work. Mrs. Granger was also featured in the Amazons Watch Magazine – Special Edition - “The World’s First Ladies on a Mission - Drivers of Sustainability & Impact. – Article - Fostering Better Living Conditions for the Girl Child.
