Guyana Represented at 63rd Session of the Commission on the Status of Women

On Monday, March 11, 2019, the sixty-third session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) opened at United Nations Headquarters in New York with representatives of Member States, UN entities, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from all regions of the world in attendance. The theme of this year’s session is 'Social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.' Guyana’s delegation is led by Minister of Social Protection, the Honorable Ms. Amna Ally, and includes Guyana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Michael Ten-Pow, Advisor to the Minister of Social Protection, Mrs. Alicia Jerome Reece, Ms. Trishala Persaud, Minister Counsellor and Mr. Shiraz Mohamed, Foreign Service Officer III.
