Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan Sherzod Fayziev granted credentials to the President of the country Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov.

During the conversation that followed after the official ceremony the sides discussed the state and prospects of further development of the bilateral cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov has underscored that not only the geographical proximity linked Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, but also the deep historical roots, community of culture, language and spiritual traditions.

President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov has also said that the Turkmen and Uzbek people are duly proud of the relations of trust and mutual understanding, which make up the core of modern interstate relations between the countries.

President of Turkmenistan praised the high level and dynamics of development of partnership between his country and Uzbekistan and said that the closeness and coincidence of standpoints on the whole number of issues of international and regional politics mainly serve for consolidation of such ties.
