On May 10 this year on the invitation of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov the President of the Republic of Korea Lee Myung-bak arrived in Uzbekistan on a State visit.
President Islam Karimov met the top-level guest at the Tashkent Airport, the report by Uzbekistan National News Agency has said the same day.
The major events of the State visit took place on May 11, according to the report. Islam Karimov and Lee Myung-bak are reported to have discussed the issues of expanding and deepening the cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, as well as the outstanding problems of regional and international nature of mutual interest.
On the outcomes of talks in Tashkent the sides have signed a number of bilateral documents aimed at deepening the interaction of the two states in various areas.
