A traffic safety month continues in Uzbekistan. In its framework the active preventive and awareness work is being accomplished in Ferghana Province, as much as nationwide, the Narodnoye slovo Russian-language national newspaper wrote.

“We hold various meetings and discussions at the institutes of higher learning, colleges and schools, as well as in makhallas (the local neighborhood community areas),” the head of traffic safety division at the Regional Interior Affairs Department, the lieutenant colonel B.Isroilov has been quoted as to have said.

With a goal of preventing the road and transport incidents at schools and establishments of preschool education the Department has organized 176 additional posts with posting at them the instructors and young traffic inspectors. Also, the Department has examined more than 30 car parking lots available on the territory of the city and districts as well as 448 kilometers of highways. The measures are taken on addressing the shortcomings.

As a result of the awareness and explanatory works the number of road and transport incidents has considerably come down in comparison with the last year. The work on ensuring the traffic safety, preventing the road and transport incidents and speaking to the people about the traffic rules is still well underway.
