On April 16-17 this year the Fourth meeting of the Uzbek-Pakistani intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation was held in the city of Tashkent, the press-release by the Uzbekistan Foreign Ministry’s Press-Service has said later last week.
The Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sayfiddin Ismailov has led the Uzbek delegation and the Minister of Water and Energy Resources of Pakistan Raja Pervez Ashraf - the Pak delegation.
The sides discussed the state and prospects of the Uzbek-Pakistani relations on trade, economic, scientific and technical spheres. The sides have also emphasized the need to further increase the trade and extend the investment cooperation between the two countries.
The negotiations have resulted in signing the Protocol of the fourth meeting of intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The sides have agreed to hold the next Fifth meeting of intergovernmental commission in 2010 in the city of Islamabad.
