The team of the School No.17 in the city of Bukhara successfully performed at the regional contest “Do you know the history?” and has earned the right to participate in the republican stage, according to the Khalq sozi Uzbek-language national newspaper.

The contest held with an aim of upbringing spiritually mature youth with a deep knowledge of history of Uzbekistan has been organized in cooperation with the Bukhara Regional Department of Kamolot Public Youth Movement and Department of Public Education.

As a whole, the teams demonstrated their knowledge on such topics as “Trip to the history of area”, “Our historical chronicles” and “Competition of know-alls”. The judges are reported to have assessed their knowledge of local traditions and customs, songs and dances, which beautify weddings and other ceremonies, as well as performing skills of attendees.

The team of the School No. 20 of Kogon District and Specialized boarding-school No.13 of Bukhara District secured the second and third places, respectively.
