An exhibition of dolls, namely “Tashkent is the city of fairy tales”, dedicated to the 2200th anniversary of the capital was held in the Ghafur Ghulom Park of Culture and Rest in Tashkent, the Uzbekistan National News Agency reported.

The works of Mansur Kuryazov, the puppet-maker from Khorezm Province, were demonstrated at the event organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan alongside with the Republican scientific and methodic center of national creation, cultural and enlightenment affairs, the Academy of Arts, “Uzbekteatr” Creative Association, as well as Khunarmand Creative Union.

M.Kuryazov is a chief director of the Khorezm regional theater of music drama named after Ogakhiy and at the same time works in the “Jaykhun’s dolls” theater in Khonka District, according to the report.

He teaches the youth the secrets of this kind of national craftsmanship at the puppet workshop at the same theater. The puppet-master is a prizewinner of the exhibitions of national and applied arts in such countries as Germany, France, China, Japan and Belgium.

More than 50 dolls made by the master were displayed at the exhibition. As a part of the exhibition the puppet shows on the motives of the Uzbek national stories will be held. The primary classes schoolchildren, as well as the attendees of kindergartens and mercy houses will be invited for them.
