The exhibition dedicated to the 2200th anniversary of the city of Tashkent took off at the Republican College of Design named after A.Khojaev at the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, according to the Uzbekistan National News Agency.
More than 100 works of teachers and students of the college made in various genres went for display at the exhibition.
Taking a floor at the opening of the exhibition the chairman of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan Tursunali Kuziev said that a substantial attention was being paid in Uzbekistan to upbringing the young generation in the spirit of respect to national and human values.
According to him, the schools of music and arts, which are now being built in the nation, as well as colleges, art galleries, children’s and youth centers for artistic works that accustom the young men and women for spiritual development and world heritage serve as vivid confirmation for the aforesaid. In its turn, this serves as an important factor in nurturing an aesthetic taste in youth, as well as harmonically mature generation.
About 900 students attend the college and major in advertisement, applied, artistic and computer graphics, designing furniture, interior and equipment, artistic carving, varnished miniature, landscape design, carving, embroidery, gold-embroidery, as well as jewelry.
At the moment, most of the graduates of the college work at the artistic and creative enterprises, workshops, galleries and centers for children’s works.
