On March 14 this year the regular foreign ministerial consultations were held in the city of Tehran with participation of deputy foreign ministers of Uzbekistan and Iran.
During the consultations the sides had an exchange of views on the state and prospects of the Uzbek-Iranian relations, as well as urgent international and regional issues. The sides also discussed the aspects of ensuring the regional security, including the prospects of settling the Afghan crisis, combating terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking, cooperation in the framework of international organizations.
The sides accorded importance to the cooperation in the sphere of transport and communications, and in particular, they have considered creation of favorable transit regime for the Uzbek cargoes being transported through the transport corridor of Iran.
