A media-seminar on the activity of civil society institutions, a key segment in development of youth projects in electronic mass media started in Tashkent.
The event, organized by Forum of culture and arts of Uzbekistan Foundation in cooperation with the Parliamentary commission on managing reserves of the non-governmental non-commercial organisations and other civil society institutions support public fund under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Creative Union of journalists of Uzbekistan, Kelajak ovozi youth initiatives centre, representative offices of the OSCE, Konrad Adenauer Foundation (Germany) in Uzbekistan, is attended by young journalists, camera operators and editors, technical specialists.
Chairman of the board of the National association of the electronic mass media of Uzbekistan F.Abdukhalikov and others noted that the key tasks, defined in the initiated by President Islam Karimov Concept of further deepening democratic reforms and formation of civil society in the country, on ensuring freedom of information and speech, development of non-governmental mass media play an important role in democractic development of the country.
The national association of electronic mass media currently unites over 100 non-governmental teleradiostations, cable studios. Most of the their staff are young people. Improving their professional skills and knowledge is under a constant attention.
The main purpose of the media-seminar is to conduct a detailed analysis of the Association’s activity, determine main tasks for the future, create opportunites for mutual exchange of views and experience of the representatives of non-governmental media sphere. Within the seminar, which will continue into 5 March, trainings by national and foreign specialists on further improving quality of news and analytical programs, making documentaries and writing scripts will be held, media-forums on developing youth projects in electronic mass media, as well as conferences and master-classes will be organized.
