According to the head of our state, the entire path of Uzbekistan’s steadfast progress in the years following the attainment of independence has been convincingly indicative of the keen potential of our Constitution, as well as the thoroughness, consistency and viability of the principles and norms stipulated in it.
The Constitution’s 20th anniversary is being widely celebrated these days. The Basic Law is critically essential in the destiny of every citizen in our country.
The whole lot of reforms and transformation in the life of every person in Uzbekistan and the nation in general, coupled with the confident advancement of the country toward progress and prosperity, are the result of rigorous adherence to the norms and requirements fixed in the Constitution.
Another peculiar significance of celebrating the Constitution Day is that the most underlying courses of further development are defined on this day, the directions that embody the dreams and aspirations of our people and movement to the great future.
On the initiative of President Islam Karimov, the year 2012 was announced as the one of family. Building on the ensuing special Government Program, a complex of measures has been put into effect to further the development of the institution of family, to support young families, boost the wellbeing of population, and foster a spiritually mature and comprehensively advanced younger generation.
All of us realize well that every person in this world, irrespective of ethnic origin, faith and language, is born to be happy, the President stressed. Achievement of this greatest goal is contingent on an enormity of factors and conditions. Yet one determinant that makes our lives even brighter stands out in this list. And that is the welfare, in the broadest sense of the word, of family hearth; that’s what makes the life of every human being vibrant and felicitous.
Hence, President Islam Karimov has proposed to announce the coming year 2013 as the one of Wellbeing and Prosperity in our country. The public gathered at the occasion expressed support for the President’s proposal with a storm of applause.
