The third international theatre festival “Theatre.Uz/2012” has started at the Uzbekistan Youth theatre on 1 October.
This project, held within the frameworks of Style.uz-2012 Art Week, is organized by Forum of culture and arts of Uzbekistan Foundation, Ministry of culture and sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Uzbekteatr creative-production union and Uzbekistan Youth theatre.
The representatives of different ministries and agencies, creative and public organisations, theatre-lovers, culture and arts workers, students were invited to the opening ceremony.
Under the leadership of President Islam Karimov a special attention is paid to developing theatrical arts as an important educational means for improving spirituality, enhancing the outlook of the youth, upbringthem them as harmonically developed individuals.
During the years of independence widescale works on building and capital reconstruction of approximately 50 existing in our country theatres, provision of required scene equipment, furniture and technical means, all-round support of theatre workers have been continuing.
Constant stimulation for making high-quality theatrical productions, capable of noble ideas in the heart and mind of spectators, depicting the heroes of our time, calling for responsibility for the fate and future of out Motherland has an important role in this regard.
"Toshkent bakhori" international theatre festival, “Debut” contest of young directors and script writers, “Seni kuylaymiz, zamondosh” creative competition serve this particular goal.
“Theatre.UZ/2012” International theatre festival, held in our country for the third consecutive year, plays an important role in establishment of creative dialogue between Uzbek and foreign theatrical workers, exchange of views and experience, fostering wider creative cooperation between them. Theatrical teams from Central Asia, Bulgaria, Russia, Israel and other countries present their best works at the festival. The spectators will have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the repertoire of theatres, theatre-studios of Tashkent and parts of the country.
In the events held within this international festival a particular attention will be paid to introduce spectators to the creative process as an art-object, difficult trade of theatrical performers. New plays will be staged, art exhibition, devoted to the works of theatrical artists, will be opened at the Uzbekistan visual arts gallery, master-classes for students will be conducted during the days of the festival.
The theatre fans will be presented new projects, which are a result of cooperation between Uzbek and foreign theatre actors. Scientific lectures, conferences, seminars, meetings and talks with Uzbek and foreign theatre actors will be held at the State arts and culture institute named after Kamoliddin Bekhzod. Scientific conference on the issues of development of contemporary theatrical arts will be held at the Uzbek national academic drama theatre.The fact that theatrical institutions receive state support amazes me, - says Paul Harman, director of British Youth theatre. - I am astounded by active, healthy, lively and energetic environment of youth theatrical groups of Uzbekistan. This environment gives the actor a big space for creation and serves as an important base for enhancing cooperation. We have prepared a new creative project- “Silk threads” scenic sketches. Skills and talent of Uzbek actors play an important role in successgful accomplishment of this project.
