Within the framework of the second “Golden Guepard” Tashkent international film forum a scientific conference on “Contemporary film: space, time, spirit” has been held, in which art critics, experts, directors, foreign specialists took part.
General director of the second “Golden Guepard” Tashkent international film festival A.Khakimov, film critic N.Karimova and others noted that under the leaderhip of President Islam Karimov widescale works on developing all kinds of arts, including cinematography, support of filmmakers have been continuing. Constant attention is paid to education of young scriptwriters, actors and directors, rendering assistance in realisation of their creative potential.
Development of film art has gained currency particularly in the current era of globalisation, in conditions of negative influence of “mass culture” to the conscience of the youth. This is indelibly related to the necessity of consistent continuation and enrichment of the best traditions of national cinematography, education of qualified specialists, who deeply acknowledge harmony of contemporary sciences and national values.
International cooperation is ever expanding, which is serving to the exchange of views and experience between the film workers. Uzbek films are winning prizes in many big festivals and international contests, which demonstrates consistent development of our national film industry.
- Uzbek films are valuable with the fact that they vividly demonstrate national spirit, high humanism and noble endeavors of the nation, - said Chinese director Jo Min Huaji. - Since the main task of the film art is to awaken in the human being the virtues and noble senses despite time and space boundaries. This is very important in educating the youth.
- The second “Golden Guepard” Tashkent international film forum is held in an organized way and on a high artistic level, in elevated mood, - says American director Taylor Kennedy. - The most participants of the forum are young people. Activity of teenagers and young people, their interest in new ideas in the film art proves development and future of the Uzbek cinematography.
During the conference presentations and reports on current processes and trends in national and world film industry, new prospects of cooperation in the sphere were set forth.
