President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov will pay an official visit to Turkmenistan on 1-2 October 2012 on invitation of his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

During the meetings and talks, the heads of state are expected to discuss enhancement of bilateral cooperation, exchange views on actual regional and international issues.

The two sides are planning to adopt a Joint Statement and sign a series of bilateral documents dedicated to further the interaction between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan in politics-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian sectors.
