1894 The German captain, von Gotzen, is recieved by the Rwandan monarch, Umwami Kigeli IV Rwabugili.
1895 Rwanda becomes part of German East Africa along with Burundi and Tanganyika.
1896 Umwami Mibambwe IV Rutalindwa is succeeded by Umwami Musinga Yuhi V in the "coup d'etat" of Rucuncu.
