UN vehicles for sale. Ready to bid?

Posted: Tuesday, 8 May 2012, New York | Author: Department of Management

UN vehicles for sale. Ready to bid? Are you in need of a vehicle?  The moment may be just right: Staff members in New York from the UN Secretariat, UN agencies, Funds and Programmes; and Permanent Missions to the United Nations, are invited to bid by Monday, 4 June 2012 , for a used UN vehicle of their choice among five on sale from the UN fleet.

You can view the five vehicles on 29 and 30 May from 11h00 to 14h00, in the 3rd Basement Garage, Row K, of the UN Secretariat Building (located at the entrance to the 3B area from the elevators).  Interested staff members can submit bids to purchase such vehicles ( please see invitation to bid for details   ).

Periodically, UN offices at Duty Stations around the world review their vehicle fleet and determine which cars deserve to be retired.  According to UN policy, UN vehicles used primarily in urban areas are normally disposed of after they have been used for five years or accumulated 80,000 miles.
