On Sunday, 16 May, we in the UN system in New York have a wonderful opportunity to let New York know that the United Nations Cares and that we are part of this great city by joining the 25th Annual AIDS Walk New York.
Last year, we had 105 walkers. We'd like to double that this year and have over 200 walkers! Won't you join us? You can join our team on-line at
http://www.aidswalk.net/newyork/ . Simply click "Register To Walk," "Join a Team," and then select our team name UN Cares – team number 1277 from the pull-down menu.
Mark your calendars now, lace up your sneakers and walk with us!
Help the United Nations demonstrate our commitment to end AIDS, as well as to show our support for family members, friends, and neighbours who are facing the reality of HIV every day.
In 2006, the UN Cares team raised $29,607, making us one of the top teams for AIDS Walk and we were honoured with Gold Team status. Unfortunately, for the past three years, our team raised less than $25,000 each year so that we lost our gold status. This year, we have set a goal of raising $30,000 to again become a Gold Team. We can easily reach that goal if you register and if we each raise at least $100. This is easy to do by asking friends, family and colleagues who cannot join the team.
By the way, have your family members and friends join us as well. We always have kids with us, from little ones in strollers to teens and adults.
