Travel & Accommodation
The GMUN Logistics Committee has identified reasonable accommodation for delegates who will attend the Global Model UN conference in Geneva, which takes place from 5 - 7 August 2009. Delegates will be invited to arrive in Geneva on Sunday, 2 August to engage in pre-conference activities including consulting with their country teams and regional groups, early registration and a tour of the Palais des Nations. (See conference programme).
Delegates should, therefore, plan for a stay of seven (7) days in Geneva (6 nights of accommodation) when making their bookings. The cost of accommodation is provided as at February 2009 and may be subject to change. The cost for meals at the Palais de Nations is provided with the background information "About Geneva".

Affordable Hotels
Etap: a 20-minute walk from the UN, the hotel was built 1-2 years ago. Price: CHF104/night +CHF2.30 tax/person, 2-3 persons per room (1 double bed plus a bunk bed across the double bed). Breakfast is optional, at CHF11/person. Simple but clean. Total of 204 rooms.
Ibis Aeroport: close to the airport, a 30-35 minute walk from the UN, the hotel was built 2-3 years ago. Price: CHF145/night +CHF2.30 tax/person, 2-3 persons per room. Breakfast is optional, at CHF15/person. Total of 109 rooms.
Ibis Gare: Price varies from CHF109 to 152 +tax. Total of 64 rooms
Note : the CHF2.30 city tax is charged by all hostels and hotels. With this tax, the hostel/ hotel provides a transportation card valid for the whole stay on any public transportation.
