The Kingdom of Bhutan [Bhutan] was admitted as a member of the United Nations [UN] on 21st September 1971. Since being admitted to the fraternity of nations, Bhutan has always attached great importance to the purposes and principles of its UN policy as an integral part of the country’s foreign policy within the context of Gross National Happiness [GNH].
