There will be a special event on "Making Globalisation Work for the Least Developed Countries: Follow-up to the Ministerial Conference of the Least Developed Countries held in Istanbul on 9 - 11 July 2007". It will take place in Conference Room 4 at the United Nations HQ on Friday, 28 March 2008, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The purpose of the event, organized in collaboration with the UN-OHRLLS and the UNDP, is to share the outcome of the Istanbul conference with a wider audience and to brief on Turkish cooperation with LDCs, LLDCs and SIDS, in particular on the Trust Funds for the three groups of countries announced by the Turkish Government during the Conference as well as to further encourage pivotal countries in South-South cooperation to do more for the LDCs.
