The Consulate General is responsible for promoting and
protecting St. Lucia's economic
interests as well as the welfare of its nationals in Canada. This involves:
The promotion of St. Lucia as a suitable and sound location for Canadian investors;
The sourcing of potential markets in Canada for St. Lucian
exports - in particular
non-traditional agricultural products;
The protection of St. Lucian nationals in Canada - looking after
the welfare of
nationals, issuing passports and dealing generally with immigration matters of
concern to St. Lucians.
The promotion of St. Lucia as a destination for Canadian tourists.
The Consulate General has jurisdiction over Ontario (excluding
Ottawa) Alberta, British
Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Ottawa and the other provinces are serviced by
the OECS High Commission based in Ottawa.
