Indian School Certificate from St. Joseph's College, North Point, Darjeeling, India

B.A. (Honours) in History from St. Stephen's College, Delhi University. Also  included were Political Science and Psychology

SERVICE RECORD

Joined the service of the Royal Government of Bhutan as Trainee Officer in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and ForestsIst August 1969

Was appointed Acting Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Forests
Ist June 1970

Was appointed Secretary, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Forests 7th July 1972

Was one of the recipients of the Coronation Gold Medal for highly meritorious
service June,1974

Was awarded the Red Scarf by His Majesty the King and continued as Secretary, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Forests15 August 1971

Was awarded the Orange Scarf by His Majesty the King confering upon him the rank of Deputy Minister 31 st December 1979

Transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Permanent Representative of Bhutan to the United Nations 8th January 1980

Appointed Ambassador to India and was concurrently accredited to the Kingdom of Nepal and the Maldives Ist March 1984

As Ambassador lead the Bhutanese delegation to the first and second round of boundary talks with the people's Republic of China

was appointed Deputy Minister with independent charge of the Ministry of Trade & Industry 14 December 1985

As Deputy Minister lead the Bhutanese delegation to the fifth round of boundary talks with the People's Republic  of China

Was promoted to the rank of a full Minister by His Majesty the King. Hence, became Tengye Lyonpo (Minister for Trade & Industry). Power, Tourism and Mines and Minerals are also under the control of the Ministry of Trade and Industry 29 December 1989
