- H.E. Ambassador Alounkeo Kittikhoun, Permanent Representative of the Lao PDR, served as Vice-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Preparatory Committee (IPC) for the Third United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDCs).
- H.E. Ambassador Alounkeo Kittikhoun, Permanent Representative of the Lao PDR, served as Vice-President of the UNICEF Executive Board.
- H.E. Ambassador Alounkeo Kittikhoun, Permanent Representative of the Lao PDR, served as a Co-Chair of the Working Group in charge of the elaboration of the Program of Action for the LDCs for the decade 2001-2010.
- H.E. Ambassador Alounkeo Kittikhoun, Permanent Representative of the Lao PDR, served as President of the 12th Session of the High Level Committee on Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries (TCDC).
- H.E. Ambassador Alounkeo Kittikhoun, Permanent Representative of the Lao PDR, served as Chairman of the Drafting Committee (open-ended) in charge of formulating the Conclusions and Recommendations of the Fifth Meeting of Governmental Experts from Landlocked Developing Countries and Transit Developing Countries and Representatives of Donor Countries and Financial and Development Institutions.
