Message from the Mission

Welcome to the website of the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations.

Since Japan’s entry into the UN in 1956, the Mission has represented the Government of Japan in conducting diplomacy to achieve its foreign policy goals. We remain deeply committed to the UN's efforts to ensure peace and stability throughout the world.

Ambassadors

There are three ambassadors posted to the Permanent Mission. H.E. Mr. Yukio Takasu , Permanent Representative of Japan, assumed his post in August 2007. Ambassador Takasu directs the activities of the Permanent Mission, assisted by H.E. Mr. Norihiro Okuda, Deputy Permanent Representative of Japan, and H.E. Mr. Shigeki Sumi.
