The Permanent Mission of Iraq to the United Nations is located at 14 East 79th Street (between Fifth and Madison Avenues).  Conveniently situated within walking distance of Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the four-story brownstone was purchased by the Iraqi government in the early 1950s.  The Iraqi delegation to the United Nations, along with a robust support staff, maintains offices and carries out its daily business in the building.  The Mission's primary function is to assist the President, Prime Minister, and Minister of Foreign Affairs in advancing the policies of the Iraqi government in this important international forum.
