Open debate on 21 April 2015, at 10:00, in the Security Council Chamber in connection with the agenda item “The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian Question”.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY
High-level thematic debate on “Promoting Tolerance and Reconciliation: Fostering Peaceful, Inclusive Societies and Countering Violent Extremism”, will be held on 21 and 22 April 2015, at 09:00, in the General Assembly Hall and at 15:00, in the Trusteeship Council Chamber.

Organizational session for 2015 of the Committee on Conferences will be held on 22 April 2015, at 15:00, in Conference Room 5.

ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COUNCIL
Special meeting on international cooperation in tax matters (22 April 2015) Pursuant to Economic and Social Council resolutions 2013/24 and 2014/12, the one-day special meeting of the Council on international cooperation in tax matters will be held on 22 April 2015, from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 18:00, in the Economic and Social Council Chamber.

On 31 March the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) met to address the issues of under- and unemployment in Africa during a session, “At work in Africa” as part of the “ECOSOC Integration Summit: Achieving sustainable development through employment creation and decent work for all.”

Building Capacity of Women’s Protection Advisers

More than 30 Women's Protection Advisers from 10 peacekeeping and special political mission attended a workshop in Brindisi. The five-day workshop looked at capacity gaps, best practices and challenges and developed recommendation to strengthen the protection of women and girls from sexual violence in conflict and pot-conflict situation.
