Presidency of the Security Council in October: Argentina


Sixty-ninth session: The 25th plenary meeting will be held on 16 October 2014, at 10:00, in the General Assembly Hall, to consider item 111 (a).

The Fifth Committee will hold its 6th and 7th meetings on 16 October 2014, at 10:00 and 15:00, respectively, in Conference Room 3. Informal consultations (closed) will be held following the adjournment of the 6th and 7th meetings, in Conference Room 5.

UNMAS Expertise to the Forefront in Strengthening the UN mission in Mali

Six armoured plated vehicles (MPVs) equipped with mechanical bomb arms arrived in Mali as part of a special order that UNMAS made through MINUSMA. They were immediately deployed to Gao and Kidal to be used by the Cambodian and the Nepalese specialized Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) companies serving in these locations.

The United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) has in the past year helped the UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) to dispose of 11 tonnes of degraded ammunition and supported a pilot project on weapons and ammunition management in support of the Haitian National Police (HNP).
