His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Siad Doualeh Calls for Consistent Application of International Law to Safeguard Peace and Multilateralism

Tuesday, 27 January 2026

“Double standard is no standard. The principles of the UN Charter must be applied consistently, in every context, without exception. The Security Council must consistently condemn actions that dismember or impair the territorial integrity or political unity of sovereign states.”

His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Siad Doualeh addresses the Security Council on Threats to International Peace and Security

Monday, 29 December 2025

“The sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Somalia must be fully respected. Any unilateral recognition of a breakaway region violates international law and threatens peace and security in the Horn of Africa. The UN Charter and the Constitutive Act of the African Union are clear: respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity is a cornerstone of international peace and stability.” – H.E. Mr. Mohamed Siad Doualeh

His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Siad Doualeh addresses the Security Council on Leadership for Peace

Monday, 15 December 2025

“At moments of international fragmentation, leadership determines whether peace advances or recedes. Leadership for peace means placing dignity above political expediency. The Secretary-General is as strong as the UN Member States wants her/him to be. We must collectively resolve to end political paralysis because it has an unbearable cost on civilians in many theaters. Africa is not merely a recipient of peace; we are vital architects of it. For Africa, renewed multilateralism is not an abstract idea. It is a matter of survival and dignity. The legitimacy of the 21st-century UN will be decided in Africa.” – H.E. Mr. Mohamed Siad Doualeh
