On the 20th anniversary of Chernobyl, this unique exhibition illuminates the human stories behind the catastrophe in the most-affected countries of Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia.
Featuring compelling work by world-class photographers such as Paul Fusco, Robert Knoth, Antonin Kratochvil, and Lucian Perkins, the images emphasize hope and dignity, yet don't shy away from the hard realities of Chernobyl's aftermath. The goal is to encourage clear-eyed international cooperation in dealing with Chernobyl's health, economic, social, and environmental issues.
The exhibition was conceived and managed by Mondano (meaning "world citizen") an independent nonprofit group in Washington DC, focused on culture, arts, and community-based collaborations. |
