ARGENTINA AT THE SECURITY COUNCIL 2005 - 2006 Argentina has been elected as a non-permanent member of the Security Council for the term 2005-2006. As the Presidency of the Security Council rotates monthly, according to the English alphabetical order, Argentina is to be the President of the Security Council during January, 2005 and March, 2006. The role of the Presidency is, basically, to organize the workload of the Security Council and, in those cases which request negotiations, to help to bridge positions and build a consensus among the members. The Presidency is also in charge of giving information to the press and to the non-members of the Security Council. In this regard, the Permanent Mission of Argentina will use this Website as a means of disseminating information. Security
