The 2015 Partnerships Forum of the Economic and Social Council will be held on  28 May 2015, from 10:00 to 13:00 and 15:00 to 18:00, in the Economic and Social Council Chamber.

The UN has recently updated its acquisition strategy for the procurement of long-term air charter services to meet today’s peacekeeping aviation requirements with more efficient and effective solutions.The acquisition of air chartering services is a major strategic area of United Nations procurement with a total spending of almost $800 million annually.

UNMAS survey uncovers ammunition and saves lives in Abyei

In the Agok area of the Abyei region between Sudan and South Sudan, a United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) team, undertaking a non-technical survey earlier this year, received information about the presence of ammunition near one of the old military barracks in the area. The team investigated and discovered that a substantial stockpile of ammunition had been stored near the barracks.

DPKO and DFS Develop New Specialized Training Materials for Prevention and Response to Conflict-Related Sexual Violence

The Departments of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) and Field Support (DFS) have developed a new conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) training module for core pre-deployment training of all UN peacekeepers as well as new Specialized Training Materials for military components to prevent and respond to conflict-related sexual violence.

This web site is maintained specifically to meet the information needs of delegations working at UN Headquarters in New York. The site includes links to essential information resources and delegate-specific tools and content from iSeek, the UN Secretariat's award-winning intranet.
